Welcome to this learning pathway on gender equality and women’s empowerment! The learning pathway is designed as self-paced training course and its overall objective is to provide participants with the opportunity to develop new and enhance existing knowledge and skills in the area of gender equality and women’s empowerment. The learning pathway also considers the different duties and responsibilities of project/ programme staff; staff working in procurement and operations; and staff in management positions. You will get most of the learning pathway when you enrol in the track that comes closest to your type of appointment.
The UN Women Training Centre provides a wealth of publicly accessible and free of charge learning materials. A selection of relevant materials out of this repertoire builds the basis of the learning pathway on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Additional topic-related free and publicly available resources from other institutions/stakeholders were identified and complement the selected resources from the UN Women Training Centre.
The pool of suitable institutions/stakeholders whose material was being reviewed was established based on the following: recommendations/suggestions received directly from the UN Women Training Centre; topic-relevant institutions/stakeholders known by the consultant; a systematic online search for institutions/stakeholders providing learning resources on gender equality and women’s empowerment; a search of academic databases; and seemingly suitable references/links to further materials displayed by any of these institutions/stakeholders.
