Description
The overall objective of the course is to strengthen the capacities of participants on gender-responsive economic policy, particularly macroeconomic policies. The training will bring together government experts from ministries of finance, gender machineries, line ministries, experts and UN Women staff to facilitate the development practice that better reflects gender specific needs and priorities – leaving no one behind.
The course will include the following modules:
- Module I. Introduction to Economics
- Module II. Introduction to Gender-Aware Economics and Methods of Analysis
- Module III. Gender and Macroeconomics: theory and practice
- Module IV. Unpaid work and care economy
- Module V. Employment, decent work and social protection
- Module VI. Gender, Public Finance and investing for gender equality
The course on Gender and Economics targets participants with the following profiles:
- Government representatives;
- Development practitioners and representatives of civil society organizations that are active in the field of economic and social rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- Experts and researchers;
- Staff from international organizations and United Nations agencies;
- UN Women staff;
